Better still: we also found surplus copies of the 70-page chapbook, BRACKETT TALES! Internally formatted to mimic the design of the original Planet Stories pulp magazine, BRACKETT TALES is chock full of vintage goodies:a facsimile reprint of “Lorelei of the Red Mist” from its first appearance in 1946, two rare fanzine works by Brackett (one short story and one essay), and correspondence between Brackett and Ray Bradbury from the early 40s through the 1970s. Finally, as you may have read elsewhere, the administrators of the 1941 Retro Hugo Awards have declared that “ ‘Darker Than You Think‘ by Jack Williamson was mistakenly categorized as a novelette. The story is a novella, but did not receive enough nominations to be a finalist as a novella. It has been marked as not eligible. The novelette “Vault of the Beast” by A. E. Van Vogt (Astounding Science-Fiction, August 1940) should have been listed as the 5th finalist and has been added to the Retro ballot.”
